Jumper Blocks

The newer models have a jumper block with the following functions:

JP1
REG - use the on board 3.3V regulator (factory default), compatible with all motherboard.
VAUX - used only for the motherboard that supplies the VAUX power in the PCI slot.
PCI - for those motherboard supply 3.3V in the PCI slot.
Case I: If the motherboard support 5V only in the PCI slot.
The jumper must be set to REG (default).
Case II: If the motherboard support both 5V and 3.3V but not Vaux.
The jumper can be set to REG or PCI. In both case, it won't make any difference.
Case III: If the motherboard support 5V, 3.3V and Vaux.
The jumper can be set to VAUX. In this case, the modem will support D3 cold power management mode.
The modem will also be functional if the jumper is set to REG / PCI
position. However, the modem will not support D3 cold operation.
Since nowadays, few motherboard support the Vaux and the complete power management operation, JP1 should be set to REG.

There are no jumpers on this PnP model. The Com Port/IRQ is PnP software selectable.
